NATURAL SUN CARE GUIDE
Sunlight is an important part of our lives: it promotes the body’s natural production of vitamin D, powers photosynthesis, and is good for our mental well-being.
However, it is especially important to get the right amount of sunlight, as excessive exposure can pose a serious health risk.
To help you avoid this risk, we’ll assist you in finding the right sunscreen.
Our favorite sunscreens for the face:
INIKA Natural Sunscreen SPF 50+
A lightweight, mineral-based, vegan sunscreen formulated with zinc oxide and free of nanoparticles
Midi12 Sonnenschutzcreme SPF 50+
Modern, non-greasy sunscreen with organic filters and no minerals. Coral-friendly filters that don’t leave a white cast.
How do I choose the right SPF??
Why does a white film sometimes form when using natural sunscreen?
Natural sunscreens can leave a white cast because, unlike chemical sunscreen products, they protect the skin using physical agents. With mineral UV filters, the skin is covered with countless tiny physical particles that reflect UV rays like tiny mirrors. The sun’s rays are not converted but rather deflected away from the skin.
However, once these particles reach a certain size, they can no longer be absorbed into the skin, which can result in a white film. This is known as the so-called white cast effect. Generally speaking, the higher the SPF of a natural sunscreen, the more pronounced the white cast effect can be.
If this bothers you too much, you can opt for products with organic sun filters. These absorb UV light and convert it into heat. We exclusively offer creams with organic filters that are gentle on both nature and people.
Our favorite sunscreens for the body:

Which UV filters are safe??
What's the deal with nanoparticles?
When mineral pigments such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are ground very finely, this can result in the formation of tiny particles at the nanoscale. Cosmetic products containing these particles spread particularly well and are easily absorbed by the skin. The sunscreen’s effectiveness is also enhanced.
Both the EU and the natural cosmetics label NATRUE classify mineral nanoparticles in sunscreens as safe. However, if a manufacturer uses nanoparticles, this must be listed in the ingredients list. In the INCI declaration, the corresponding minerals are then labeled as “nano.”
In our shop, you’ll find mineral sunscreens both with and without nanoparticles. This is always indicated in the ingredients list, so you can choose the right product for you.
Our favorite after-sun products:
