Growing up in the Black Forest, we have been familiar with its beauty and magical elemental power since we were small. Its plants are fascinating little marvels with sophisticated strategies of symbiosis and constant renewal over millions of years.
As a small, independent cosmetics company, we have tried to use this natural "laboratory" of the Black Forest carefully and to harness the regenerative power of the native plant diversity for natural and sustainable skin care. For the recipes of SCHWARZWALD natural cosmetic products we have been inspired by traditional remedies consisting of medicinal herbs and plants from the Black Forest. At the same time, the latest scientific research findings on maintaining healthy skin and caring for it have been processed with purely natural ingredients.
Novel signature ingredients, from silver fir honey to the secretion of the Roman snail, develop specific efficacy in SCHWARZWALD Natural Cosmetic Care products. Some of the active ingredients come from wild collections or from regional, sustainable cultivation. The oils used are also gently cold-pressed in the Black Forest in a traditional, artisanal process in historic strainer presses dating back to 1919 and thus retain their nutrients and vitamins.
TRADITION MEETS MODERN RESEARCH
The combination of old, proven plant formulas and the latest results of dermatological and cosmetological research has resulted in unique care products. For example, we have succeeded in not synthesizing skin regenerating growth factors (epidermal and fibroblast growth factors) artificially in the laboratory, but rather from natural sources such as the secretion of the Roman snail. Another innovative strength of SCHWARZWALD Naturkosmetik is the introduction of gemmotherapy into cosmetics, i.e. the use of young plant buds to increase the regenerative power of the skin - in accordance with traditional European medicine. Or in the targeted counteraction of chronic inflammatory processes in the skin, which are one of the causes of premature skin aging (Inflamm-Aging). With exclusively natural active ingredients SCHWARZWALD Natural Cosmetics products precisely support the proliferation and differentiation of skin cells for the benefit of healthy and perfectly cared for skin.

The galenics of SCHWARZWALD Naturkosmetik skin care products set new standards in natural cosmetics with their light and creamy consistency. Despite the absence of silicones, SCHWARZWALD Natural Cosmetics products have succeeded in creating a soft and caressing feeling on the skin which is expected of luxury cosmetics. And since, in addition to the galenics, the fragrance experience also plays a decisive role in daily skin care, we have created a fragrance composition for SCHWARZWALD Natural Cosmetics with a renowned French perfumery house, which harmoniously combines freshness and elegance and discreetly underlines the luxury and individuality of this skin care series.
THE SCIENTIST BEHIND THE BRAND
In addition to our committed employees and regional suppliers, the plastic and reconstructive surgeon Prof. Dr. Hugo Kitzinger personally vouches for the quality standards and reliability of the brand. Prof. Kitzinger, also from the Black Forest, is a specialist in skin cell cultivation for the treatment of severe burns injuries. In 2005 he had already developed a new generation of skin care products based on the biomimetic principle. This expertise of Prof. Kitzinger and his many years of experience in the development of innovative skin care products are incorporated into the product development at SCHWARZWALD Naturkosmetik and form part of the quality guarantee for our certified natural cosmetics.
