The Woman Behind the Brand: Annemarie Lindner
Annemarie Börlind is more than a brand name — it belongs to a true pioneer. Annemarie Lindner founded the Börlind GmbH in 1959, together with her husband Walter Lindner and Hermann Börner, in the Swabian town of Calw on the edge of the Black Forest. Her guiding principle was as simple as it was radical: what she could not eat, she would not put on her skin.
What sounds obvious today — no animal extracts, no mineral oil derivatives, no silicones, no microplastics — was a revolution in the 1950s. Annemarie Börlind was among the very first cosmetics brands to consistently avoid synthetic ingredients while still delivering measurable, proven efficacy.

From the Black Forest — For the World
Every Annemarie Börlind product is developed and manufactured at the company’s original site in Calw, in the Black Forest — the very same location since 1959. One unique advantage of this production site is access to the brand’s own deep spring water, which forms the base of all formulations.
All products are at minimum vegetarian, most are vegan, cruelty-free, PETA-certified and NATRUE-certified — one of the world’s most stringent natural cosmetics certifications. Free from microplastics, silicones and mineral oil derivatives. Raw materials are sourced from certified organic farming and fair global partnerships.
