The Brand
Karin Hunkel: colour consultant becomes manufactory founder
Karin Hunkel gründete ANGEL MINERALS im November 2011, weil sie als Ausbilderin für Farbberatung ein veganes Make-up suchte, das gleichzeitig Naturkosmetik-zertifizierbar war. Beides zusammen gab es damals nicht. Also entwickelte sie es selbst. Im Hintergrund stehen über 30 Jahre Erfahrung als Farbberaterin: Hunkel entwickelte 1986 als erste in Europa die „Ganzheitliche Farbberatung" und ist Autorin von drei Büchern über Farbwirkung.
The brand operates as its own manufactory in Karben, Hesse. All products are made in Germany and are protected by utility model law. ANGEL MINERALS sells exclusively through specialist retailers, its own consultants and its own online shop. No discounters, no mass market.

Quality & Ingredients
What sets ANGEL MINERALS apart
The powders consist of mineral pigments and are free from preservatives, talc, artificial colorants, mineral oils, palm oil and bismuth oxychloride. The latter is a by-product of lead and copper refining, used as a cheap filler in many lower-cost mineral make-up products and can cause irritation in sensitive skin. ANGEL MINERALS does not use it.

The ANGEL MINERALS colour system follows a clear principle: within each colour group, number 1 is always the lightest and number 5 the darkest. The three main foundation groups are Rose (cool, pink-toned skin), Neutral (middle undertone) and Yellow (warm, golden-yellow skin). The INTENSE range offers stronger coverage, and the Deep Dark range is designed for deeper skin tones.
Since monitors and lighting conditions render colours differently, ANGEL MINERALS strongly recommends ordering samples before purchasing. The colour system is based on the classic seasonal colour types (Summer, Winter, Spring, Autumn), making it easier to identify the right match.
Buying Guide
Which foundation suits me?
The first step is identifying your undertone. Then choose the right shade within that group. ANGEL MINERALS offers samples so the right shade can be found without risk.
Rose range (R1–R5)
Anyone who notices pink or bluish tones in their skin belongs in the Rose range. R1 is the lightest, R5 the darkest variant. R2 is particularly popular according to brand information, as many people have lighter, pink-toned skin.
Yellow range (Y1–Y5)
For skin with a golden-yellow or olive undertone. Y3 is one of the best-selling shades according to brand information and suits medium, warm-golden skin tones. Also suitable for Southern European and Asian skin tones.
Neutral range (N1–N5)
For those who are neither clearly cool nor clearly warm, the Neutral range is the right choice. N4 is a popular shade for medium skin tones according to brand information. Can also be mixed with Rose or Yellow powder.
TDF Foundation
The titanium dioxide-free range (TDF) uses cellulose and boron nitride as alternatives. Selected popular shades are also available as TDF. Recommendation: order samples, as coverage may differ slightly.
Application note: According to brand information, ANGEL MINERALS recommends placing a small pinch of powder into a small glass or ceramic dish, swirling the kabuki brush in it and tapping off any excess. Then apply in circular movements. The powder can also be applied wet or mixed with a skincare product.
Why not skip the samples?
Monitors display colours differently. What looks rose on screen may appear neutral on skin. ANGEL MINERALS offers all foundation powders as samples. Belladonna recommends ordering at least two to three shades as samples before your first full purchase.
