Bay leaves have antibacterial and antimycotic effects - a natural complex of active ingredients against dandruff. These are not only caused by an oily or dry scalp, but often by a yeast called Pityrosporum ovale. Although this belongs to our skin flora, if it spreads rapidly on the scalp it can lead to annoying dandruff, against which shampoos from the pharmacy are usually powerless. This is where the antimycotic effect of laurel comes into play, as antimycotics are considered to be the anti-fungal agent and can thus stop even stubborn dandruff. And of course, a healthy scalp is always associated with healthy hair growth. Moreover, bay leaves stimulate the blood circulation. When they are applied to the scalp, the body pumps particularly nutrient-rich blood into this area - the hair follicles are supplied with minerals from the fresh blood and can grow faster and stronger.
Our organic Laurel Essential Water, or Bay Leaf Hydrolate, is steam distilled from the fragrant green leaves of the Laurus nobilis tree grown in France. The hydrolate has a warm, bright and subtly spicy green aroma reminiscent of freshly crushed bay leaves. With a range of fragrance, taste and cosmetic applications, the bay laurel has a long history in the herbal, aromatherapy and spice community.
