From an accident to a
life's work
In the early 1980s, Margot Esser suffered an accident with severe burns to her face and upper body during a business trip to the southern United States. At a naturopathic clinic she was treated with aloe vera.
That encounter changed her life. Esser, who had previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry, says she felt the pain-relieving and regenerating effect of the plant so clearly that she completely redirected her career.
More than ten years of research and worldwide cultivation trials followed, to find the best aloe vera quality. On 1 March 1986 she finally founded Pharmos Natur, with three employees and six aloe vera products. Today it is a family-run company based in Uffing am Staffelsee in Upper Bavaria.

According to the brand, almost all cosmetic products, whether natural or conventional, consist of 60 to 80 percent filtered water. Pharmos Natur takes a different route and uses holistic aloe vera organic juice as its base.
Water largely stays on the skin surface. It carries hardly any active ingredients into deeper skin layers and partly evaporates again.
Thanks to its special viscosity, the aloe vera organic juice, according to the brand, absorbs fully into the skin and carries the active ingredients of the medicinal plants with it.
Pharmos Natur does not isolate individual active ingredients but processes the healing and rejuvenating plants holistically, with their entire natural network of active substances.
