Douglas spruce, also known as Douglas fir, is an evergreen conifer. The Douglas fir can grow to 60 metres and higher and can live for several hundred years. Its needles, which are around 4 cm long, have a pleasantly aromatic forest scent with a hint of citrus. It is traditionally used to treat colds and muscle complaints and to improve the air in a room.
