Ana Albiol: "As someone who has always worn make-up, I had to get used to not wearing make-up when I moved to Bali. The high humidity made it completely unfeasible. As it turned out, I needn't have worried because when you live on a tropical island, you have that sun-kissed look I love all year round. However, when I returned to Spain and went back to my old skincare habits, I realized that I no longer liked the feeling a full face of makeup gave me. That's why, after many years of friendship with Pedro and as a long-time fan and follower of Twelve Beauty, I approached him with the idea of creating a product that could reproduce the golden glow of summer on the skin."
Pedro: "As a formulator, Ana made it very easy for me because she knew exactly what she wanted: a moisturizing, antioxidant, serum-like product that offers a gradual tanning effect but also an instant glow. As luck would have it, I had already experimented with some of the ingredients, so I had the final formula pretty much in my head. The hardest part was finding the exact blend of pigments, and that's one of the key benefits of the product - its perfectly balanced formula adapts to all skin tones." And that was the birth of GLOW ISLAND.
Important ingredients:
Erythrulose: A fermented natural sugar that acts as a long-lasting self-tanning agent. Suitable for all skin types.
Jojoba oil: This natural liquid wax is one of the key elements of the skin's hydrolipidic film.
Panthenol: A natural, soothing and skin conditioning agent. A must for sensitive, stressed skin.
Acerola extract: A powerful antioxidant rich in vitamin C and bioflavonoids. Due to its content of dextrose, fructose and other sugars, it also has a strong moisturizing effect.
Hyaluronic acid: This high molecular weight version forms a permeable film on the skin that keeps it elastic and hydrated.
Oatmeal: Rich in beta-glucans, which are able to repair the superficial layers of the skin.
Sodium PCA: A naturally occurring component of human skin and part of the "natural moisturizing factors" (NMF) that keep the epidermis healthy.
Saccharide Isomerate: A plant polysaccharide capable of binding large amounts of water in the skin and slowing down transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
