In China, the country of origin of Gua Sha therapy, the white semi-precious stone howlite is associated with success, happiness, peace and serenity. Gua Sha (pronounced Quascha) is made up of the words Gua for scraping and Sha for redness.

While this handy tool is used in China to treat a wide variety of illnesses, in the West the method is primarily used in cosmetics to work skin-healthy serums and oils deep into the skin. Daily use of the Gua Sha optimizes blood circulation and ensures greater skin elasticity, swelling and wrinkles can be alleviated and facial contours can become firmer with regular use.

Each of the handpieces has its own marbling, as the white semi-precious stone howlite is cut up and then sliced to make the Gua Sha. The final shape is painted on, cut out and polished (slight differences in shape are possible) before the Gua Sha is given a final polish after washing and drying.
